Business & Awards Meeting: Kechi Okwuchi from America’s Got Talent

Kechi is a self-taught singer, born in Nigeria and now living in Houston, Texas. Greatly influenced by her father’s love for music of all genres and her mother’s highly musical family, she grew up with a pure love for the art, forever dreaming of herself standing on a stage one day and singing her heart out to millions. Kechi’s love for singing was fostered in high school, where she sang for her friends and at small school events. She found her true voice after her accident; a plane crash that took the lives of 107 of 109 passengers in 2005. Throughout the difficult journey of burns recovery, Kechi was sustained by her faith, her family and her music. She began performing at her church, at burn galas and family events, sharing what she loved with those she loved, until she finally had her dream realized performing as a top 10 finalist on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
